Are you passionate about shaping the future of rheumatology nursing? The Rheumatology Nurses Society (RNS) is seeking dedicated leaders to join our Board of Directors and help guide the strategic vision, educational offerings, and professional development of our members.

We are currently seeking to fill three open positions on the Board:

  • Pediatric APRN
  • Research RN/NP
  • Adult NP

We encourage current RNS members who meet one of these criteria and are ready to actively serve to apply.

Application Timeline

  • Application Deadline EXTENDED: August 29, 2025
  • Virtual Interviews Completed By: September 5, 2025
  • Invitations to Join the Board Sent: September 8, 2025
  • First Board Meeting: September 16, 2025 (virtual)

Who Should Apply

We are looking for nurses and advanced practice providers with:

  • A strong interest in advancing the mission of the RNS
  • Clinical experience that aligns with one of the open positions listed above
  • Leadership potential and a collaborative mindset
  • A commitment to actively engage in Board and organizational activities

Selected applicants will be invited to a 15-minute virtual interview with members of the Board.

Board Member Commitments

Serving on the RNS Board of Directors is an exciting leadership opportunity that requires a firm commitment to the organization’s success. Expectations include:

  • Attending at least 10 monthly Board meetings per year (typically held the third Tuesday evening of each month)
  • Full-week attendance at the RNS Annual Conference
  • Occasional travel to additional conferences or in-person events
  • Participation in the majority of virtual RNS events, including chapter meetings
  • Active involvement in committee work, email communications, and organizational planning
  • Serving a 2-year term, with the possibility of up to two additional consecutive terms
