WHAT role elevated IL-6 can play in RA
Dysregulation of IL-6 signaling, as seen in patients with RA, has been associated with chronic inflammation and widespread effects. Persistently elevated IL-6 levels affect various physiologic processes and can contribute to morning stiffness, functional disability, lower hemoglobin levels, fatigue, increased bone resorption, and vascular endothelial dysfunction associated with RA.1,2
